As a school counselor, we will advocate for all students to achieve their highest potential and encourage students to become their own self-advocate. We are responsible for identifying students’ academic and social/emotional needs, as well as providing any necessary interventions essential in removing barriers to learning and helping students develop skills and behaviors critical for academic achievement. We believe students are best able to learn when their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. We believe it is important to collaborate with the teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and community in order to better help students in becoming their best person. We believe all students can be successful through positive motivation. This will allow them to acquire and then develop self-awareness that will enhance the students' outlook and development personally, academically, and in achieving their future goals and endeavors.
